Saaristomeri on saarten rikkoma merialue Itämerellä, Suomessa. Alue rajoittuu idässä Suomen lounaisrannikkoon ja lännessä Ahvenanmantereeseen. Etelärajan muodostaa Pohjois-Itämeri ja pohjoisrajan Selkämeri. Saaristomeren maisema-alue on kansallismaisema ja alueella sijaitsee Saaristomeren kansallispuisto.

Saaristomeri muodostuu noin 40 000 saaresta, pienistä kallioluodoista suuriin asuttuihin, suurista avomerenomaisista merenselistä ja jokisuistoja muistuttavista saarilabyrinteista. Suuria, yli neliökilometrin laajuisia saaria on 257. Saaristomeren keskisyvyys on vain 23 metriä.^[1] Saaristomeri on Euroopan laajin saaristo.^[2]

The Archipelago Sea is a sea area of the Baltic Sea in Finland, broken up by countless islands. The area is bordered by the southwestern coast of Finland to the east and by the mainland of the Aaland Islands to the west. Its southern boundary meets the Northern Baltic Sea and its northern boundary meets the Sea of Bothnia. The Archipelago Sea landscape area is one of Finland's national landscapes, and the Archipelago Sea National Park is located there.

The Archipelago Sea consists of about 40,000 islands, from small rocky skerries to large inhabited islands, and from open sea areas to maze-like island formations that resemble river deltas. There are 257 islands larger than one square kilometre. The average depth of the Archipelago Sea is only 23 metres.^[1] It is the largest archipelago in Europe.^[2]
